Conrad Humphreys

A legendary figure in world sailing, Conrad has competed in the Vendée Globe, the Ocean Race, and the BT Global Challenge, which he won as the youngest skipper in the race’s history.

He skippered Bounty in Channel 4’s acclaimed series Mutiny, retracing Captain Bligh’s 3,600-mile open-boat survival voyage across the Pacific. He knows how to make seven complete strangers feel entirely at home on a historic wooden boat. That combination is what Bounty & Hope is built on.

Really enjoyed the time on the boat. With Conrad explaining what the project was about and some of the occurrences on the expedition, being aboard put everything into context. A great experience. Thank you!

What a fascinating and active trip. Conrad literally shows you the ropes and then helps you get stuck in whilst telling tales of the Bounty, Blythe, and his own adventures. Well worth it!

Well, what can I say? We thoroughly enjoyed our little “voyage” with Conrad and six other sailors on a lovely Saturday afternoon. The history behind this relatively small boat is fantastic and what Conrad has done and continues to do is excellent. I just wish we could have spent more time. Thanks for a great experience!

A wonderful evening sail — welcoming, relaxing and beautiful. With encouragement from Conrad, we all felt confident to join in and experience our first sailing trip.

First-time sailor
We had a fantastic day out. Both the kids and adults really enjoyed themselves. Conrad was brilliant and got everyone involved who wanted to be. Would definitely recommend and do this again.

Conrad's knowledge of the boat, its history and sailing in general is second to none. The boat looks old but is in tip-top condition with electric propulsion — even on a calm day you can cruise in near-silence.

Who'd have thought a 240-year-old lifeboat could clock 7.4 knots! Conrad was the perfect host and skipper. Even the landlubbers loved it!
Matt Griggs
Group sail, Plymouth
My children had an amazing time with Conrad. They were very fortunate to see wild dolphins swimming with the boat. Memories they will never forget. We will be back!
