See the fortifications of Plymouth Sound, Drake's Island and Royal William Yard, before heading up the River Tamar past the Royal Naval Dockyard to the Brunel Bridge - then into the River Lynher, one of the most beautiful and tranquil rivers in the West Country.

We depart from the Mount Batten Centre in Plymouth, with free parking on site. Exact directions and a what3words location are sent to you ahead of your trip. Please arrive in good time before departure for your safety briefing and lifejacket fitting.

  • Group size: up to 7 guests
  • Food: refreshment or lunch stop at Royal William Yard, or bring a packed lunch
  • Children: under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian; children's lifejackets suit ages 8–16 and we can't accommodate infants

Yes — on the Sail & Wild Swim and Tamar Valley experiences. We’ll find sheltered water suited to conditions on the day. You’ll need to be comfortable swimming 50m in open water. Paddleboards are available to hire on the day.

Who'd have thought a 240-year-old lifeboat could clock 7.4 knots! Conrad was the perfect host and skipper. Even the landlubbers loved it!
